Encouraging Words from Rev. Janie Watson

By Rev. Janie Watson
Saved in her late teens and educated at Zion Bible College in Barrington, RI, Janie has devoted her life to serving the Lord everywhere He leads her.  She worked for Pat Robertson in the northeast for more than 20 years.  Besides traveling to direct the work at the CBN radio stations, she ran a 24 hour spiritual help line out of Rochester.

Daniel 2:20-23
Daniel answered and said, “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever. Wisdom and might are His…He reveals the deep and secret things…”

Application: God gives understanding to the heart that is open to him. He also gives knowledge and reveals the deep and hidden things of his word. God knows what is in our dark times, but the light dwells in Him.

Hab. 3:18-19
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  The Lord God is my strength…He will make me walk on my high places.

Ps. 27:14
Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: Wait I say, on the Lord.

1 Chronicles 16:8-9
Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon his name; Make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!

Application: Recall the wonderful things that God has done for you and praise Him.

Worst Case Scenario

By Daniel Slisher

March 27, 2020 (Day 87) Since World Health Organization (WHO) China Country Office was informed of cases of pneumonia detected in Wuhan City that were later identified as a new type of corona virus on January 7th

In times like these, people are prone to think about “Worse Case Scenarios.”  Dying from the corona virus or any other pandemic is not the worst thing that can happen to you.  The worst thing that can happen to you is to die without Jesus Christ.  We are all destined to die.  But the good news is that death can either be an entrance into the glorious presence of God or an entrance into an eternity of separation from God.  While you cannot stay the hand of death, you can be ready when it comes for you.  This is not an attempt to scare you or appeal to your emotions.  It is a simple statement of the eternal realities that are sealed by temporal decisions we make, here and now.  You have only one life to live (here on earth).  How you live now and the choices you make today will affect your entire future.

Jesus said:  “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”  (Revelation 3:20)
